Review: St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

I was a bit hesitant to pick up this scrub because I was attempting to not spend money needlessly. After all, I already have a Clarisonic, did I really need a scrub for exfoliation? Apparently, the answer is yes because I'm loving this Apricot Scrub!

There is nothing but good things to say about this one- I love that it's gentle, it's natural, and it smells AMAZING!
First thing first: Gentle. For those of you who are afraid of harsh exfoliates or have sensitive skin, this product is for you. Wet your face with water, take a small amount on your finger tips and message gently on to your face. You don't need a lot of pressure, just go slowly, avoiding sensitive areas like around your eyes. Rinse your face off and presto! Soft, smooth skin that has a lot of life to it.

Second: Natural. One of my favourite things about this scrub is that it uses 100% naturally derived exfoliants which means... no plastic microbeads! It has been a hot topic lately about companies using microbeads, made of polyethylene, in their scrubs and toothpastes which get washed down the sink into water sources. They are too small to be cleaned out by filtration systems so they are deposited in sewers, lakes, and oceans for little creatures to swallow. Luckily, there are bans on plastic microbeads in the works and lots of companies have pledged to make the switch to natural alternatives, like ground fruit pits and sea salts.

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub is also:
  • Sulfate Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Oil Free
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Hyperallergenic
Third: Just go smell it, okay? SO YUMMY!
