BEDA Day 31: August 2013 Favourite Products!

So... It is the last day of BEDA and we have made it.

As many of you know I love watching YouTube beauty videos and a trend with many YouTube personalities is doing favourites videos in which they show their favourite products that they discovered or have been loving that month. They are great videos because you get to see what people really use and recommend so I thought I would do that post as my last BEDA post of the season as August comes to a close so let's find out my favourite products for the month of August.

BEDA Day 30: Fossil Watches: An Alternative to Michael Kors?

Hello everyone welcome to Day 30 of BEDA!

Today we are going to talk about watches.

I know most of you have probably seen the Michael Kors Rose Gold Watches that come in a variety of different styles to choose from. The problem with these watches is that they run around anywhere from $200 to $400. Now as a young, working, student, I don't necessarily have income to spend on that but I also want to be able to buy things I like because I do work for it. Anyways, I was browsing around the Fossil online web store (as I do often because they have such awesome bags) and I happened to click on the watch section and I saw that they had a lovely selection of Rose Gold watches that looked quite similar to the Michael Kors line but they were around half the cost. I decided that I would save up my money and purchase one of those instead.

BEDA Day 29: OPI vs. Essie Nail Polish Battle

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 29 of BEDA,

We are down to the last few posts now...

I am sitting here writing this blog post outside and enjoying one of the last few good weather days we have left in Vancouver... I hope you all are doing awesome and enjoying the last few days of summer.

Today we are doing another battle post. We started off BEDA with a battle of the Cleansing Waters (click here to read it) but today we do something a little different and that is Nail Polish.

Two of the most popular Nail Polish brands out there are OPI and Essie they are both popular in their own rights and they both have some great merits and different people will prefer different brands so today I am going to tell you which one I prefer and why so let's get started...

OPI:

OPI Nail Polishes have been cult favourites for years, probably because of their wide range of dynamic shades and superb lasting quality. I own a few shades from OPI and can confidently say that I like them very much but having said that I do have some downfalls to the OPI range of polishes which I will tell you about.

BEDA Day 28: Is the GHD Hair Straightening Iron Worth the Hefty Price Tag?

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 28 of BEDA!!!

Today I am doing another review but this time on a hair product.

A year ago my Conair straightener died and it was a sad moment for me because I had it in my life for a long time and it was quite reliable and worked well for me and it ran its course.

I have pretty straight hair that has a bit of a wave to it naturally so for me I don't require a fancy shmancy straightener but I decided to splurge and pay the very expensive price tag on the GHD flat iron. It is a lot of money but I heard great things and I wanted it so I saved up to buy it.

Today I am going to talk about whether or not I think it is worth the added cost over another, cheaper straightener.

BEDA Day 27: August 2013 Top Box Unboxing

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 27 of BEDA,

Today I am going to show you all what I received in my August 2013 Top Box. Top Box is a Canadian online product sample service, much like Birchbox (link here) that is quite popular in the United States, Top Box (link here) is quite popular in Canada and it actually took me a while being on the wait list to finally get an invitation to purchase the subscription. Top Box costs $12.00 for 4 luxury samples. I will say that sometimes I have gotten a full sized nail polish in my box which is always a nice bonus.

What I absolutely love about Top Box is that the brands that are featured are brands that I adore, such as Benefit and Clinique as well as Canadian brand Lise Watier. Top Box also has some really awesome packaging which adds a nice detail. I also like that Top Box ships from a town near my area so it takes me only a day to get my monthly boxes after they are shipped out.

I thought that this month I would show you what I got in my box and next month I will show you what I got in my September box while also reviewing the products that I used from my August box. That way you can get a sense of what I liked about the box and what I did not. So let's get started...

BEDA Day 26: Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 26 of BEDA,

Today is a cleanser review and a very popular face cleanser to boot. We are talking about the Philosophy Purity Made Simple facial cleanser. This cleanser is a cult favourite amongst those with combination skin because it is said to be good enough to balance the skin by removing a lot of oils but not too much which a lot of cleansers can do, leaving the skin too dry and stripped.

I have been using this cleanser for about 3 weeks now every night to take off my makeup (I use my Clean and Clear cleanser that I did a review on (line here) in the morning). I use this cleanser in conjunction with my Clarisonic (review on the Clarisonic here) and I have to say that this cleanser does an excellent job at removing my makeup and making sure my skin is extra clean.

BEDA Day 25: My Perfume Collection and Top Perfume Picks

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 25 of BEDA,

Today I thought we would do a fun post. I found that the more personal the posts I do, the better the reaction so I decided to show you all my perfume collection (some of which are almost gone) and talk to you guys about my favourite picks and why I love them. I will also try to describe the scent as best as I can and talk about what occasion each scent can be worn. I hope you like this post, now let's get started...

Perfume: Amazing Grace by Philosophy
Now this perfume is the newest in my collection. I bought this perfume because I have always heard people raving about Philosophy perfumes and how wonderful they smell so when I went to buy Philosophy's Purity Made Simple cleanser to try out I decided to smell a few scents as well. The lady was very helpful and allowed me to test each of the fragrances Philosophy offers. I fell in love with Amazing Grace (which afterwards she told me was their most popular scent) and I purchased it. This scent, you will notice, is much more mature than the other scents that I own but it is also very fresh and light. This fragrance has floral notes like Jasmine and Rose as well as fruity notes like mandarin and grapefruit. To me, the scent is more floral than fruity but I think the hint of fruit really makes it versatile for both day and night. It is fresh enough for day but mature enough to wear in the evening as well. I can definitely see why this is Philosophy's most popular scent.

BEDA Day 24: Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask Review

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 24 of BEDA!

Today my post is on a face mask, the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask to be more accurate.

Now I have been testing this product out for 2 weeks and I have a full understanding of its benefits and uses.

First off, this mask is a sheet mask which is quite a popular concept in Asia but in North America it has now only become a phenomenon. Sheet masks are just what their name suggests, a mask that is a sheet. The mask is a sheet that is applied to your face and it has cutouts for your eyes and mouth. To be quite honest, you will look a tad sill while wearing it but the benefits are said to outweigh the negatives.

After removing the sheet mask from your face you are not supposed to rinse off the solution that it leaves on your skin so you can reap the benefits for longer. I used this midday so that the solution could stay on for a long time.

BEDA Day 23: Philosophy Eye Hope Review

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 23 of BEDA,

I have been doing a lot of fun posts recently but I thought today I would go back to the basics and do a good old fashioned review for you.

Today I am reviewing the Philosophy Eye Hope eye cream. I recently purchased the Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser and the Philosophy Amazing Grace perfume and The Bay, which is a local Canadian department store was having a promotion that if you spent $50.00 or more on Philosophy products you would receive a Philosophy gift bag with your purchase.

In this gift bag there were a bunch of different Philosophy products but the one I was most excited for was the Eye Hope eye cream because if you know from my recent BEDA post on the Korres eye cream (link here) I suffer from under eye dark circles and this eye cream is supposed to work towards reducing them so I was so happy to have gotten 2, 2ml samples of this stuff to try out.

BEDA Day 22: Sephora Haul

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 22 of BEDA.

Today I thought I would do a bit different of a post again. Instead of the normal review I figured I would do a haul. Most times I just buy stuff and then feature the stuff on the blog with reviews. This time I thought I would haul these products and tell you why I bought them and then eventually you will probably see some reviews on the blog about these products and see if they live up to the hype.

So I will show you in pictures what I purchased and tell you why I bought it and what I'm hoping it will do for me.

Let's get started...

Product: Perricone MD Firming Facial Toner
Why I bought it: I bought this because I have always wanted to try stuff from the range but never really knew what to buy and this toner was featured in a magazine I was reading at work as a "miracle product" so I decided to give it a whirl.
My hopes: I am really hoping that this toner works to reduce the size of my pores. Many people have talked about this product and raved about how much smaller their pores are after using it so that is exactly what I want.

BEDA Day 21: Tag Questions to Get to Know Me Better

Hello Everyone and welcome to Day 21 of BEDA!

Firstly, I would like to talk to you guys again and tell you how much I appreciate the ones of you who are coming back to my blog everyday and reading BEDA posts. It really means a lot to me. I have been wanting to start a blog for so long and never really got the courage so to have those of you who are actually coming back and reading is amazing and I am truly grateful that you do. I also want to tell you that I want to create a safe place for anyone so feel free to comment back to posts and write any tips you have as well.

Today I thought I would do a wacky post that maybe will help you get to know me better. I took a bunch of tag questions and decided to do them in one fun post. Please feel free to answer the same questions in the comments below so I can get to know you as well.

1. What do you order at Starbucks?

Normally at Starbucks I order a Iced Venti Green Tea (No Lemonade) because I really dislike hot drinks. If I don't order that, I will order a Green Tea Frappuccino.

2. What's one thing in your closet you can't live without?

Scarves! I have a very whole and complete obsession with scarves and I keep buying more and more, not that I need any more but I just love them and I live in Vancouver so it is always cold and rainy 10 months out of the year so a scarf is quite handy around here (at least that's what I tell myself every time I buy a new one).

3. What's one thing that most people don't know about you?

Hmmmm... This is a hard question but I think it is probably that deep down I am a really lazy person. Most people would not know that because I work so hard at my job and school but the reason I do that is so that the one day that I have off I can turn into a lump and watch TV and do absolutely nothing.

BEDA Day 20: Tips for Those With Oily Hair

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 20 of BEDA!

Today I have a very special post for Day 20 and it is something that is personal for me because these are tips that will help those of you who suffer from oily hair (like me). I have acquired these tips and tricks through years of dealing with my oily hair. I have even asked a couple of friends who have gone to school for hair on their tips as well.

I know oily hair can be a blessing and a curse. My hair is amazingly shiny right after I wash it (I know, who doesn't want shiny hair) but when the next day comes around it looks like a grease ball and that is when things start to suck. I have some tips that will hopefully help you with your oily hair struggles. These are tips that I use to extend the life of my hair and make it through an extra day without having to wash it again (which includes all that heat styling i.e. blow drying and hair straightening that can get a little damaging after a while). These tips have definitely reduced the amount of heat damage to my hair and keep my hair looking healthy and strong.

1) Don't wash your hair everyday: This one is a given but it needs to be said. Often times people with oily hair think that they can get away with washing their hair every single day because it needs to be washed. Well, what happens is, every time you wash your hair with shampoo you strip your hair of the natural oils and when you do that your hair over compensates and therefore produces more oil, which is something we oily haired people do not need more of.

BEDA Day 19: In the Kitchen with Cate: Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken Thighs (Original Recipe by Stacey Snacks)

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 19 of BEDA.

I hope you have been enjoying the posts so far. One of my recent posts was favourited by the Benefit Cosmetics twitter page which made me very happy. If you don't already follow me on twitter, you can right here. The post was about the High Beam highlighter and you can check it out by clicking this link.

Now we move on to the post.

So I am always looking for good, easy recipes to try out for dinner. I am a huge fan of chicken. Mainly because it is super simple and easy to make and quite delicious. It is also on the healthier side of the meats (much healthier than steak) and there are so many variations in ways of cooking. I was lurking around on Pinterest (as I very often do) and found this great recipe by the blog Stacey Snacks pinned and I immediately pinned it and made a grocery list.

In this post I will show you an in depth look at how I cooked this delicious feast and what I changed from the original recipe's directions.

Firstly, you need all your ingredients. For a complete list of ingredients and original instructions click on this link which will bring you to the Stacey Snacks original blog post.

BEDA Day 18: Is Dior Addict Lip Gloss Worth the Added Cost?

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 18 of BEDA!

Today is another much loved makeup post. As mentioned before, I love reviewing pricier items for you guys so you know whether or not it is worth the hype/money. I rarely, if ever, buy expensive products on a whim. It takes time and research for me to spend my money on something that requires a bit more cost than other products similar to it. Name brands are specifically notorious for raking up prices on items just for the brand itself and less for the actual formulation of the product; but sometimes some name brands do it right and for me that is Dior Cosmetics. Everything that I have ever purchased, cosmetics wise (I can't really afford their fashion stuff), from Dior has always been superior quality. Now granted I have not tried all of the products in all of the lines that Dior offers, I have been impressed with everything that I have spent my well earned money on so far, one of which is the Dior Addict Gloss in the colour 643 Diablotine.

BEDA Day 17: Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 17 of BEDA!!!

Today, as you can see from the title, we are going to be talking about the Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial.

I generally love Korres products and they tend to do well on my skin so I was really excited to try this, especially because of all the hype surrounding its awesomeness but at $48.00 bucks a jar I knew I had to be cautious.

I like reviewing expensive products for you because it will show you whether or not I feel the product was worth the money or not and in this case I definitely think this product is worth it.

BEDA Day 16: All About Lush Solid Shampoos

Hello again everyone and welcome to Day 16 of BEDA!!!

Today we are going to be focusing on Lush's Solid Shampoos. Now many people (including me) are fascinated by this concept. In fact, it seems so foreign and unattainable. Shampoo that is solid? How would that even work? Will it lather? Will it get my hair clean enough?

Well folks, I am here to answer all of your burning questions. Just like you, I was curious about this concept and needed to get my hands on this stuff immediately. So I went online and did my research on which one was suitable for me. I have oily hair. It is super shiny and awesome when it is freshly washed but they next day it turns into a grease pile (sorry for the visual), so I needed something that was going to combat that and I found many people raving about Jumping Juniper which is meant for oily hair like mine.

I decided to give solid shampoo a try. Before I gave it a whirl I wanted to know how to use it so I found this lovely video from Lush's YouTube channel showing me just how to use the bar effectively. So I hopped into the shower and gave it my best shot.

BEDA Day 15: Is Benefit High Beam the Highlighter for You?

Hello and welcome to Day 15 of BEDA!

Today I am going to talk about another makeup item. Today it is Benefit Cosmetics High Beam facial highlighter.

Facial highlighters are meant to be used on the tops of cheekbones, on the bridge of you nose, and on your cupid's bow. The reason for highlighters is to give your face a beautiful glow. You know that radiant glow that pregnant women have? Well now you can get that glow with a product. Highlighters give us that alive and well look, even on a not so happy day. There are so many highlighters on the market. Most are either liquid or powder form. So how do you know which one is right for you? Well today I am going to talk to you about a liquid highlighter meant to give you that glow.

BEDA Day 14: Should You Buy A Kindle Paperwhite?

Hello and welcome to Day 14 of BEDA!

Now there are a lot of reviews out there on Kindle e-readers that talk about all the technological stuff but today I am going to talk to you about how it feels to use one and whether or not it is worth it to make the investment.
What I want to talk about is the difference really between an e-reader and an actual book and if having a Kindle will make your life easier.

I love my Kindle. As someone who is an avid reader, I never thought I would stop loving the feeling of a real live book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. One of the things that is not so great when reading a book is page turning. Using a Kindle is really easy when it comes to page turning and comfort. You just have to tap the screen to go forward and backward.

BEDA Day 13: Is Toner Really Worth it?

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 13 of BEDA!!!

Today we are going to talk all about toners.

Toners, for many years, have been considered an essential part of the skin care regimen. Toners are formulated to be used after your cleanser. They are to be used after your skin is dried to remove any excess makeup and dirt that your cleanser may have forgotten so that you moisturizer and serum can go on smoothly.

I have read some conflicting arguments on toners and their properties and whether or not they are really beneficial to your daily routines. One article suggested that in todays advanced array of cleansers that get the job done, toner is really just an unnecessary added cost that you can avoid. Whereas other articles claim that toners today do so much more, such as minimize pores or even contain anti-aging properties.

For me, I can only speak through my personal experience with using toners and without using toners. Over a year ago I was not using toners. I found them to be quite a pain and really not worth my time but I had decided, because of some breakouts I had been having, to totally revamp my skin care regimen and get it to a place that it needed to be in order for my skin to look the best that it could. During this time I purchased my Clarisonic, which I just reviewed and you can check out that link here.  The Clarisonic is known to remove makeup and impurities 6 times more effectively than cleansing alone, so with that claim I thought I wouldn't ever need a toner because what else could a toner remove from my skin that my Clarisonic could not? Well a few months ago, I decided to change just one thing in my skin care routine and that is that I decided to get a toner. I went for a cheap, gentle version by Nivea and before I knew it, I was in love with toners.

BEDA Day 12: Is the Naked 2 Palette Worth All That Hype?

Hello and welcome to day 12 of BEDA!

I thought I would switch up today and do another makeup product review.

So we have all heard about the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay and all the hype that surrounds them but is the hype really well warranted?

I have had the palette for about a year now so I know pretty well how much I love it. First off, Urban Decay shadows are incredible. They are so silky smooth and incredible pigmented. All the shades blend really well and last a really long time (especially combined with an eye primer). There is no denying the quality of these shadows. They are a joy to use. I have some close ups of all the shades for you to have a look at.

BEDA Day 11: Tips and Tricks for Fighting Acne

Welcome to Day 11 of BEDA!

I did a post on teens and twenties skin care and while writing the post I thought I would write a post on Acne and how to fight those spots. I have learned so many tips in my 25 years of life with a lot of them being spot filled. I hope that these tips will help any of you that are struggling with spots now. It takes years to get used to your skin type and all these tips may not work for you but some may so definitely try some of these out. The best way to figure out what works for you is with trial and error. You never know what could be a miracle saviour unless you try it yourself.

1) Use a Gentle Cleanser: If you are going through a breakout period, stop using your harsh cleansers and switch to something gentle that gets the job done without irritating your skin further. Some tried and tested options are the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Neutrogena Ultra Gentle, or the Clean and Clear Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin. Using cleansers that are specifically labeled "sensitive" or "gentle" really help with irritation that can be causing you to breakout out of the blue.

2) Stick to Your Routine: Your products cannot do their job if you are not strict with your regimen. Don't sleep with makeup on. Keep your face clean and make sure you use your products every single night.

3) Pay Close Attention to Your Forehead: If you are suffering breakouts on your forehead area, especially close to your hairline, you may not be rinsing your cleanser properly. Many people don't wash their cleanser off properly, especially near the hairline so pay close attention to that area. A good tip is to take a cotton pad and use your toner to make sure that area is cleaned off.

BEDA Day 10: Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Eye Treatment

Hello and welcome to Day 10 of BEDA!

Today I am going to be talking about eye cream, specifically the Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Eye Treatment.

First off, eye cream is really important, especially in your twenties. Teens do not need to worry about eye cream but in your twenties you will start to see changes to your under eye area. Maybe it is a little dry, you can notice dark circles, fine lines, crows feet, or even thinness. Each and every one of you will experience different concerns and you should find an eye cream that is suited directly for you.

I have dark circles, always have and although they are said to be incurable, I have read success stories, maybe not in completely removing them but dramatically reducing their appearance.

Some tips to reduce dark circles:

1) Get more sleep: lack of sleep causes darks circles so more sleep helps reduce them.
2) Drink more water: Water makes everything better and your skin more replenished.
3) Wear sunglasses: Protect your eyes from the suns harmful rays.
4) Use SPF: Again, protect your eyes from the sun.
5) Eat vitamin c: Vitamin C has brightening properties so it can brighten your skin when you consume it.

BEDA Day 9! Clean & Clear Cleanser: An Oldie but a Goodie

Hello and welcome to Day 9 of BEDA!!

You know those cleansers that are just your favourites? No matter what hot new cleanser you try you can always go back to your favourite one. Well I have two and they are both by Clean and Clear. The first one is Clean and Clear Advantage 3 in 1 Foaming Acne Wash and the second is the Clean and Clear Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin.

If you remember my post from yesterday that talks about teen skin care you will know that as a teen you need a simple cleanser that does the job. That can clean your skin and not irritate it in the process. If you need a cleanser for acne the Clean and Clear Advantage 3 in 1 Foaming Acne Wash is perfect. It cleanses the skin perfectly, foams up beautifully, gets rid of all the makeup, and has salicylic acid to fight those pimples. Even today whenever I use this cleanser during a breakout period it gets rid of my breakouts completely within a few days.

BEDA Day 8! All About Skincare for Teens to Twenties

Hello friends,

Today my post is going to be all about skincare in your early teens to your mid twenties (which is where I am at). I can not unfortunately talk about anything above that age as I have not experienced it yet so I am not really an expert.

I am pretty obsessed with skincare and have tried many items and brands so I have some tips that I have acquired throughout the years that I think may help those of you who are struggling with skin and how to take care of it.

Let's start off with Teen skincare...

Teen skincare is so important because if you spend the time working on your skin, incorporating good habits, and understanding your specific skin type and the individual needs associated with it, you start the process for better skin in your later years.

As a teen you don't need as many products as someone in their 20's, 30's, 40's, etc. but you do need to maintain some routine steps.

1) Get to know your skin type.

This tip is so important because your whole skin care regimen is determined by this factor.

So there are many different skin types but these are the most common:

Normal- Your skin is neither to dry or too oily, it feels quite comfortable and you don't break out too much (lucky).

Dry- Your skin is very dry and tends to feel tight and you may have irritated skin because it is so dry.

Oily- Your skin is oily all over and you notice shine which gets worse throughout the day.

Combination- Your skin type is the most common. It tends to be oily in your T-Zone (forehead and down your nose) and normal to dry in your cheek area.

BEDA DAY 7: Are Tory Burch Reva Flats Really That Awesome?

Hello everyone and welcome to BEDA Day 7!
It has been one week and we are fully under way. I hope you are enjoying the daily posts.

Today I am going to talk about the Tory Burch Reva Flat. Firstly I would like to say that I am a huge Tory Burch fan and love her designs. They are classic with a modern twist and I like her motto of Affordable Luxury especially during these hard economic times many people can barely pay for basics let alone an expensive pair of shoes.

BEDA DAY 6: The Benefits of Rose Hip Oil

So lately everyone has been talking about Rose Hip Oil and its many benefits and supermodel Miranda Kerr endorses it and even has her own line of it Click here. With a gorgeous supermodel backing up the benefits of this oil you can see why many people are hooked on the stuff.

I decided to get my hands on my own and try it out myself. Now I could not get a hold of Miranda Kerr's brand because it ships from Australia and I wanted something close so I went for Kosmea Rose Hip Oil which was available at my local organic grocer.

BEDA Day 5: How to Get Through Life

Welcome to BEDA Day 5!!!

Today I am going to talk about life and how to get through it.

"My life sucks" we have all heard that or worse, said that. The truth is life does suck sometimes, heck it may even suck a lot of the times. In this economy and job market, when you look at all the statistics out there it's hard not to worry and not to be scared. I am 25 and I haven't finished University. I took so many breaks to try and save up and work so that I can afford to finish my degree. Even though I am almost done and waiting for this new life to start, I get bogged down by life and how much other people have accomplished and how far I have to go.

I am guilty of comparing my life to others who are around my age and asking "why has their life gone so much better?" but the truth is I can't predict how my life is going to go and neither can you.

Life is about doing what makes up happy and what makes us feel at peace. I know that by going to school and eventually becoming a teacher, part of my dreams will come true. The point is there are so many things in life that will threaten us, push us, and try to bring us down and I wanted to share with you some tips on how to make it through.

1) Write!!! Write in a journal, write everything you feel. It is the most cliche thing to do but it really helps. Everyday I write how I feel and I write if I felt better the day before or better today and why and what made me happy and what made me sad. Writing your feelings really helps you understand them and deal with them. It also helps you to understand that your feelings are real and expressing them in a healthy way is natural and good.

BEDA Day 3: What Can the Clarisonic Do for You?

Welcome to Day 3 of BEDA!!!

Most of you have probably already heard of the Clarisonic and its use of Sonicare technology and its claims to revolutionize skin care. Well, as a skin care FANATIC I wanted more out of my skin regimen. I wasn't seeing results, even with my tried and tested favourite products. The Clarisonic has been raved about all over the internet but it's price scared me (see for yourself). I decided that I needed to save up because my yearning was unwavering. Back in April I had finally saved enough money for a Clairisonic Mia 2 which is the next one up from the base model/travel friendly Mia. Now I was well aware of what people were saying "your skin will go through a purging phase", "you will see some breakouts", "things will get worse before they get a whole lot better", I was prepared and excited. To be honest, my skin really didn't go through a purging phase but I did notice some amazing things. The little bumps and unevenness that many people (including me) struggle with were magically disappearing. My skin had a more even and smoother texture and my pores were not as gapingly humungous (slight exaggeration) as before.

BEDA Day 2: Tarte MultiplEYE Lash Enhancing Liquid Liner = Best Liquid Liner Ever?

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 2 of BEDA!

Liquid liner is just one of those makeup items that I feel like only professionals can master. I am horrible at it, so much so that I don’t even bother but browsing through the beauty section of Pinterest you see so many pictures of girls with gorgeous liquid liner I felt the need to give it another shot. As usual with me, I go on to YouTube and watch my favourite beauty Guru's and see what they recommend. I found one of my favourite Guru's MakeupByTiffanyD raving about the Tarte MultiplEYE Lash Enhancing Liquid Liner. So the next time I made an order at Sephora I was sure to add this to my list. Now this liner clearly claims to enhance your lashes by making them appear fuller. Although I can't speak to those properties because quite frankly, I just don't see much of a difference but the liner itself is AMAZING and yes it is All Caps worthy.

Tarte is a brand that I have admired for years. They strive to make products that work but that are also friendly for your skin as well as the environment, now who doesn't love that? All products from Tarte are made without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulphate, triclosan, and synthetic fragrances so you can trust these products are not going to irritate your skin in any way.

BEDA Day 1: Avène vs Bioderma: The Battle of the Cleansing Waters

Hello everyone and welcome to the first day of BEDA (Blog Everyday in August). I hope you enjoy today's post.

Micellar lotions or cleansing waters are all the rage these days. Evidently they are already very popular in Europe but have just recently made their way into North America.

Firstly, I thought I would talk a bit about what cleansing waters are supposed to do and how you are supposed to use them. Cleansing waters are meant to be used in conjunction with a cotton pad to either remove makeup or cleanse the skin. The idea behind them is that you don’t have to rinse them off. They are designed to stay on the skin and work wonders. Many people with sensitive skin rave about cleansing waters because the ingredients are so minimal that they hardly, if ever, irritate the skin. Sounds like a miracle product already, doesn’t it?

One of the most popular cleansing waters is by Bioderma and mine is called the Sensibio H20. I have watched hundreds of YouTube beauty vloggers rave about Bioderma and it’s many benefits. Bioderma is widely available in Europe and the United Kingdom but clearly absent on American shelves. American’s have to order Bioderma online. As I am a lucky Canadian, Bioderma is available for me at Shoppers Drug Mart where I was able to get my hands on a bottle to try out.
